~ Nicholas Brandenburg, Founder of Higher Impact People.

I've spent much of my career working around the same question from different angles:

How do growing organizations build the people systems they need before the lack of structure starts slowing the business down?

Sometimes that shows up in hiring. A role stays open too long, managers are not aligned, or candidates fall out of the process.

But just as often, it shows up somewhere else: unclear workflows, stretched HR capacity, inconsistent onboarding, reactive workforce planning, underdeveloped manager support, or people processes that worked at one stage of growth but no longer fit the business.

I built Higher Impact People around those friction points.

My background combines 5+ years in recruiting, 10+ years in consultative business development and client advisory, and 2 years working with HR BPO, HRIS, and HR solutions. That mix gave me a practical view of how people, process, systems, communication, and business priorities intersect.

I've seen HR and talent challenges from multiple sides: the employer side, the agency side, the candidate side, and the business operator’s side. That perspective matters because people problems rarely live in one place. They usually sit between teams, workflows, expectations, systems, and decisions that were never clearly designed in the first place.

Through HIP, I help companies make those issues easier to see, understand, and address.

My work focuses on flexible HR and talent strategy, HR operations, recruiting process, candidate experience, workforce planning, onboarding structure, manager support, and practical execution for lean teams that need experienced help without adding full-time headcount.

I am a PHR and SHRM-CP certified HR and talent strategist, and a licensed employment agency operator in Massachusetts. HIP is licensed, bonded, and insured.

What I bring is not just recruiting experience, HR knowledge, or business development background in isolation. It is the combination: a cross-functional view of how work gets defined, how people are supported, how decisions get made, and how organizations can build stronger people infrastructure around all of it.

If your team knows something needs attention but is not sure what level of support makes sense, schedule an alignment call.
